My name is Jim Berry. I was born in Tillamok, OR in 1967. I grew up in Dowagiac, MI where I started shooting pool at the age of 8. I started shooting on leagues at the age of 21.

Sometime in 1996, I was wandering around a Billiard store in Elkhart, Indiana looking for something to mark my pocket, as that was a requirement of the league I was playing on at that time. I spotted half a pool ball sitting on the counter, and I thought "Wow, that would make a great pocket marker." So I went home and used a hacksaw and cut a billiard ball in half and took it to league night and used it. Then I decided it slid off the table too easily, so that’s when I put rubber on the bottom. After using it like that for some time, it was suggested to me to put sand paper on the bottom to scuff my tip. It was then I put the sand paper on it, and added a flat washer to keep it from sliding off the table. The sand paper turned out to be very unpractical, so I researched and found that the Williard tip scuffer could be easily glued in the bottom, in a drilled out hole. It was then I started making them and selling them to my fellow pool players in my local area.

In April 1997 I applied for the patent on my product. On August 11, 1998 my patent issued. At that time I tried to start the business and I called it "Pool Q Shaper Plus". Due to personal and business issues I stopped producing the product for several years.

In 2005 I started driving truck OTR, but it just wasn’t for me. After lengthy conversations with my father, I decided to try and make the product a successful business, so I gave up driving truck and devoted my time to running my business full time. I renamed the product, and started my business over in June of 2006. We have been in business just over 1 year, and our product has been much more successful than we had ever anticipated, and for this we thank all our loyal customers.

Our success is also due greatly to my father who saw how dedicated I was this time, and he encouraged me, and helped me in any way he could, to see me reach my goal. Regretfully, we lost him to cancer June 1, 2007, but his part in our success will never be forgotten.

And also, I give special thanks to my girlfriend Linda Kelly, who is my business partner.  She works very hard along side me to help make our business successful. Linda & I would also like to give special thanks to Yvonne Weston, Bonnie Kazmar, & Barbara Coyne for their part in our success.

Once again we want to thank our many valued customers . We look forward to continue serving all of you as well as the many more customers we will serve in the years to come.
